# Can a damaged riding helmet be repaired?

Riding helmet manufacturers do **not cover damage caused by use, such as a fall, or by normal wear and tear**. Indeed, comprehensive repairs on protective helmets are subject to very strict regulations to avoid compromising their structural integrity and protective function.

A riding helmet that is damaged or has experienced a fall can no longer absorb shocks effectively and **must be replaced**.
